- I used the handicap parking in the Seattle Library central parking and had a horrible experience. I have a young child wheelchair bound and it takes a lot to get him in and out of the vehicle. We went to this location because it was close but it took 20 minutes to get upstairs and then another 20 minutes to leave. I left after 34 minutes but by the time we made it down stairs we surpassed the 40 minute mark on the machine. I asked the lady in the booth if there were any exceptions for disable but she said no and that I had to pay full price. Then I tried to pay but I misplaced my credit card and had to find it. Then when I found the card the machine would not let me pay anymore. Then I lost the ticket to rescan and I called for help but the lady in the booth came out and said she would help, but she was really rude and had no other options to pay. So she made me find the ticket that I had lost and it took forever. Thank GOD I found it before then next price change but it was probably about 20 or more before I even had a chance to start getting my son in the car and putting away his chair. I would like to request some type of exception for the disabled because we have to deal with more things than you could imagine and then have to deal with an employee of the parking garage that was adding more pressure and stress to the situation. It was the most horrible experience and I will never park there again.
