 - Just received a PCN from SMART PARKING asking for £100 (£60 if paid within 14 days of issue date - how kind of them). Really not happy as I bought a ticket! I Parked there at 1835hrs, immediately input my VRM into the poorly lit cash only machine by TK Maxx, paid the 50p for 1 hour's parking, displayed the ticket on my dash board and waved my son off at the station 5 minutes later. I left the car park literally 20 minutes later at 1850hrs so there should have been 40 more minutes parking left. I discarded the ticket on returning home, thought nothing more of it, only to receive their PCN letter 12 days later. Really poor. Inverness town centre should be encouraging people to visit. With treatment like this we won't be returning any time soon.

 - Received unexplained charge from rental car company in Edinburgh a month after returning vehicle. Tracked it down to a parking ticket at Strother's Lane. Tracked it down to arrival in Inverness from Edinburgh on a Sunday noon, after arriving from the US. No coins in pocket and machine would not accept credit/debit card. Ran to Charlie's for change. Closed due to lack of help on a Sunday. Went to a sandwich shop on Strother's lane who wasn't able to provide change. Finally went to gambling concern at the end of Strother's on Academy and was able to cash a bill for pound coins. This took 15 to 20 minutes in all. The Parking Ticket fine was issued noting a time of 12:01. By the time I was able to get a ticket from the machine and put it on the dash board, the ticket was timed at 12:21. My receipt from Mustard Seed had us checked out at 14:06, with 15 minutes to spare. Moral of the story: Don't give your last pound coin as a tip when you leave the hotel in Edinburgh.

 - Similar situation as people described above. I parked there a month ago while on holiday, paid at the machine, even kept the ticket for a while but now it's been a month so I don't have it anymore and I got PCN!!!! It is shocking!

 - Just opened my post this morning and delighted to receive Smart Parking Fine - Careful enough to send a picture and it's up to you to prove otherwise - It's a cheap hit yet again on the working class and I am sure that the majority will pay the £60 as cannot take them on ! Here's a thought make the machines clearly depict Registration of the car and the payment made/duration of stay ! - And link this up to the received two photos on the fine - Vehicle Entering / Vehicle Exiting. So no ambiguity whatsoever - Bet they won't do that - Will they ?

 - Do not park here. We have paid for 3 hours, left after 2.5 and smartparking.com charged us 100GBP fine. On the top of that the rental company charged us additional 35 GBP. Extremely dishonest service. Of course the their parking machine is cash only so there is no proof of payment.

 - Really very stressful when you are on a low income to receive YET AGAIN a penalty notice from this company that is completely unwarranted! Luckily I kept my ticket receipt as proof. I wonder how many people are falsely given a charge notice like me and are frightened into paying a fortune because they can't find proof of ticket purchase. Shameful!! Don't park here.

 - Watch out! They are real rip-off merchants. I got a PCN for exceeding the parking time by four-and-a-half minutes. Which was the time I needed for parking the car and paying for the ticket. My actual parking time was precisely the hour I had paid for. Hurray for British enterprise!
