Omni Hotel

 - Went to an event last night at the Omni Hotel - the event rate for parking was $9.99. (Small print - the rate was good from 6:00 pm on - hard to see that when driving by the sign.) We got there at 4:30 pm to get HANDICAPPED PARKING and easy access to the event to because of our handicapped friend. The charge for parking was $23.45!!!! It was at this point that we were told the rate started at 6:00 p.m. The machine did not give a receipt and given the line of cars behind me I wasn't about to wait for the man to get me the receipt. Math: $23.45 minus $9.99..... we paid $13.46 for the additional 1 1/2 hours of parking!!!!! Really? The MAX daily rate is $23.00. This just doesn't make any sense.

 - This lot was super expensive in comparison to others around the area. It only takes credit cards and when I inserted my card the gate didn't open so I inserted it a second time. Of course that meant I was billed twice. I just called the phone number listed on this web page and after 10 rings I got the sound of a fax number. So...I paid $24 to park my car in order to have tapas at Barcelona on Saturday night. My advice is to try any other option for parking in New Haven unless you know something I don't.
