- Will no longer use this car park. 9.15 am this morning, confusion reigned at the pay machine. Would not accept coins, you could only pay by card. Several of us stood there trying to work out what to do. I gave up and left the car park (thankfully within the 30 minute free period). I parked out of town. Same confusion going on with other people, these people did not want to pay by card! I went in to the store to complain to the Manager who told me it was a public car park, and not Sainsbury's - not sure why big orange signs greet you at the entrances to this car park. SAINSBURYS BRAINTREE! She did manage to find one machine taking cash the other side of this car park. BUT that did not help the customers facing a machine that told them card payments! I did not buy much in Sainsburys due to this. I went to Tesco, where another lady who had been wrestling with the card payments and gave up too, spoke to me to ask if I had complained to Sainsbury's as she was going to go and complain to them. At 11.15 I crossed the car park again, and saw a lady and gentleman at the machine I had tried earlier, they had realised it was card only, and the lady was saying "I don't want to pay by card". I heard what she said and was able to tell her one machine had been taking cash earlier. Sainsburys will just lose customers over this car park!
