- This used to be free parking on weekends (up until 7/22/18), which was nice for employees and their customers. Now the city charges 24/7. This is a huge detriment to our customer base, and a 40% increase in parking rates for those of us who work on weekends too, not just during the week. Shame on you Peoria!!! And you wonder why businesses move from downtown, and why people move out of the city. You don't have to pay employees to man the parking deck, and now want money on weekends too. I'm sure this extra money will NOT be spent on fixing our roads or hiring more police...it will probably go towards your outrageous salaries or pensions.
