TPA - Economy

 - I had called the airport & talked to a lady that said you can reserve your parking ahead of time for $10.00 a day or pay 12.00 if you do it when you arrive there. When I go onto the website it says there is no reserved parking for this lot!

 - Follow up on telephone call to airport parking authority. Been using economy parking at TIA for many years. Never had a problem finding my car until the recent trip. The economy parking is HUGE now and much more difficult to navigate and find our vehicle. With four color codes and many many parking isle it was impossible to find our vehicle located on yellow level 2, isle 1. Suggest that the TIA parking staff paint diagrams on the side on the elevator shaft to showing row numbers serviced by that shaft. We found yellow rows ranging from 5 to 9 (?)around the yellow elevator shaft but row 1 (and lower numbers) was nowhere to be seen. Thanks to a staff with a golf cart, we found our vehicle - but it took a while. Getting from the economy parking to the terminal was a breeze - just a lot of walking! Signage was good for this part of the journey!

 - The Economy lot worked well with the busing service. The new transport shuttle travels at such high rates of speed when people are standing and when it goes around the curves it can throw people into each other. Tampa is our home base and the first time I used the transport shuttle, I found it to be too long of a distance to walk without a wheelchair (which on this trip I had none). The next time we travelled I brought my brand new travel scooter and once we were on the transport I shut my scooter off and as we went around a couple of those sharp turns it even moved my scooter and about ran into a couple of individuals. We will be travelling again in August and don't know what to do. I will be taking my scooter, but do not like the transport because of its speed and the long term parking is outrageously priced. SLOW down the transport - at least when going around the curves. I agree with the other reviewers - you do need to add extra time to allow for the elevators - and/or escalators when everyone on the transport is trying to enter at the same time. Wish it were more ADA friendly.
