- Two nights ago, I went to see the Roger Waters concern in Columbus. When we arrived around 7:45, I pulled into a line of about 6 cars and gave the attendant $10 for parking. I received a stub from her with the address on the ticket. After an hour after the concert I returned to find that the cars were still queued up from the 6th floor where I parked. Even an hour later the cars were moving very slowly; another half hour later it took to get to the Exit where attendants were dropping the gate in front of every car then opening the gate. When I got there, the attendant asked for my ticket, which I was not sure I still had. I told him so and he said I had to pay an additional $10.00 to leave; I told him Id already paid $10 on entry. He then told me it was in my contract that I had to present the ticket on leaving. However, there was not any such notice posted at the entry or near the Exit or at any other place in the facility. When I told him I would not pay, he called his Supervisor who told him to issue me a $30.00 citation for not having my ticket. He advised I'd have to pay the $30.00 to leave. Miraculously, I found the ticket and presented this to the gate attendant who then opened the gate. I am not sure if these attendants were just skimming money for themselves or scamming people, but I have parked at this garage for other events and never had to present a ticket to leave. Further, I'm left with the rather distasteful experience of having to be scammed!
