- ATTENTION: THIS PARKING GARAGE IS A SCAM!!! Do not go to this parking garage. It was right across from Pier 29 with "Public Parking" signs pointing to it. When I go to Pier 39, I usually park a few piers away to save money. I double and triple checked the sign to make sure there really was a "10 dollar flat rate" before four hours like we initially saw when we pulled into the garage. We saw nothing about having to get the ticket validated. Nothing other than the "10 dollar flat rate" that it claimed to have.
We make sure we get what we want to get done within four hours and make it back in time and lo and behold, we get charged 25 dollars! And then the scam artist of an employee said "Well there's a catch, you have to get it validated at the exploratorium for a 10 dollar flat rate." And he says otherwise it's 3 dollars every 30 minutes and then it caps out at 25 dollars. And considering we were back before four hours, that would be 24 dollars at the most if you do the math.
If you're going to charge something other than a flat rate, post that on the sign. And don't retrospectively make up a "3 dollars per every 30 minute rate" when, since I was only there for four hours, does not mathematically make sense. THIS PARKING LOT IS NOTHING BUT A SCAM. Park elsewhere unless you feel like getting robbed even more than you already do in San Francisco. L
