- To enter, you have to drive over the pavement with pedestrians crossing and on a bend, drive downwards into the bowels of Debenhams. It is impossible, on a busy Saturday afternoon to stop across the pavement and read all the terms and conditions. It's a pay and display car park - how complicated can it be?
This is a single route car park.....down, around and out and there is a lot of congestion when people are pulling out or into spaces or waiting for a space. It took 20 minutes to park our car, then we paid for a ticket and went shopping for the 2 hours. On return to the car, firstly the car next to us was so close to our drivers door, my husband had to climb over the passenger seat to get the car out. At 58, we may not be old but not athletic at all. Then it was a repeat of cars trying to get in and out of spaces and therefore it was probably 10 minutes after the parking ticket expired when we left but we were in the car and trying to get out of this hellhole car park, with really small spaces, especially if beside a 4X4.
IT'S NOT A REGULAR PAY AND DISPLAY CAR PARK - IT'S a SCAM supported by Debenhams against their customers. They are timing you from the moment you drive in until the exact minute you leave. You have 10 minutes to park your car and buy a ticket before the timing starts. It's 2 hours parking from 10 minutes after driving in, until the second you leave....the timing on the ticket is irrelevant. I'll never shop here again and return their storecard.
