- It would seem that your town centre car parks do not cater for foreign visitors. I arrived with a hire car during my stay in Ipswich and entered the car park to visit the town centre. I have a wise card with both sterling and euros, which I was able to use at ATMs, shops and restaurants but NOT this car park. I am 66yrs and found it very stressful when the machine would not work and it does not take coins. I left immediately and feared being fined when there was nothing I could do to pay. I never went into Ipswich again and used Felixstowe instead which was much better.
