- Vanderbilt student signed up for semester parking. Arrived around 3pm on Saturday, Jan 15, to pickup entry access card but parking office was closed. Left car on 3rd floor of building on Saturday (reserved spaces start on 4th floor). Car was towed at 830am on Monday before security office was open again. The parking company was notified regarding our arrival time and explained that the security desk would admit us but they didn't.
There is no reason why they need to tow the car unless someone is getting a kickback somewhere? It is $277.40 IN CASH to get the car back, much less the time and inconvenience. What scoundrels. The parking company says they gave the security company the access card, but they didn't bother to share that with us when we asked how to access the reserved parking lot. We have parked at the Loew's Hotel for the past year and highly recommend their courtesy and service. Plus, their access is high tech--no card even needed--it can read your license tag so it is super fast and efficient. The 2525 garage is more expensive even without the towing fees. While I think the company has poor policies, I will say that the young man who works in the parking office is extremely polite and courteous and did apologize for this disaster. Too bad he's not the policy maker.
