 - I have been visiting this beach the past 30-years and have used this parking lot. The latest publicity debacle over the fire rings also included BBQ privileges at the beach...BBQ'ing is now illegal. There are no signs at the main entrance (where the majority of visitors who bring their equipment to BBQ enter!) to the parking lot. Apparently there are a couple in low profile locations where guests enter (walk-in). There is a third-party security or event staff walking around the beach area passing cards with this information, announcing they are the nice guys and will not ticket visitors, but others will. This event staff passed our location multiple times while BBQ'ing and not one word was mentioned (including the lifeguards driving by who helped us untangle our kite which was right by the BBQ). They only stopped by while we were packing our things to leave for the day. The chosen method for notification is unacceptable. By eliminating the parking attendants and using electronic parking kiosks, this probably generates more revenue in parking fees. Elected public officials could have done a better job at notifying the public of this change, what a shame and underhanded way to collect more money.
