Parking Guide  -  Find and Reserve The Perfect Parking Spot
Portland Parking Information

As one of the "greenest" and most environmentally friendly cities in the world, one of the most important aspects of appreciating Portland is parking your car and getting out and walking!  Cut down on your fuel consumption and help preserve the environment by finding a place to park quickly and without having to circle the blocks.  And our parking tips below will show you where to find that perfect Portland parking spot!

Park Smart: There are an average of 59 parking spaces per lot in Portland, so if you want to cut down on your driving, it's probably best to know where the best parking lots are located before you go so you don't circle the block looking for an open space.

SmartPark Garages: SmartPark is Portland's most affordable and conveniently located parking.  SmartPark garages are located all around Downtown Portland.  These lots charge $1.50 per hour for the first 4 hours.  After 4 hours the rate goes up to $3-$5 per hour until you reach the daily max, which never goes beyond $15.  These lots are always located near shops and restaurants, and there are over 700 merchants that can validate your parking for 2 hours free parking with a $25 minimum purchase.

Street Parking: There are over 9,000 parking meters around Portland, and they have all been updated to state-of-the-art solar-powered meters.  The rates range from $1.00-$1.60 per hour and meters are typically enforced Monday-Saturday from 8am-6pm.  However, it is extremely important to read all signs before leaving your vehicle.  Enforcement hours vary by location, and some areas of Portland have meters that run on Sundays!

Pro Parking Tips:

Pro Tip 1: If you are parking at a street meter make sure to check the signs for rate and time limit.  Short-term meters (time limit of less than 4 hours) do not allow you to "feed the meter" so you must MOVE your vehicle after the time limit has expired to avoid getting a ticket.  Meters with time limits of 4 hours or longer will allow you to add more money to the meter.  Time limits are only in effect during posted enforceable hours.

Pro Tip 2: There are electric vehicle charging stations at the short-term parking garages at the Portland International Airport.
