- A slum.
Unfortunately, I have to use this parking garage during the week as I work downtown. First off, the parking spaces are way too narrow for even a mid-sized vehicle. This leads to lots of dings on your car door. Last but certainly not least, I honestly fear for my safety at 7am (especially during the winter months). Almost every day I witness homeless people sleeping in the garage often with alcohol and syringes laying on the ground next to them. I have to walk from the parking structure to the common area (above Sawyers) and at that time there are few lights on but the doors to the pedway are locked. This creates another inconvenience being forced to walk outside in the pitch dark, which can definitely be scary that early in the morning. The outside doors to the pavilion remain unlocked, which means any creep can be lurking inside around the corner for an unsuspecting victim.
Our workplace has contacted the Lexington Fayette Urban development but they refuse to take any action.
