- BEWARE! We entered the garage on Labor Day (Monday) in September 2018. We asked the attendant if it was holiday or regular rate and he looked at us like we were crazy and said it was the weekday rate. Okay, fine (weekend max is much cheaper.) He was directing all paid parking to B3. First, the garage is one of *those* where spaces are crammed and you will be stuck behind someone making a 19pt turn to get into or out of a space. Second, spaces weren't available until B4. But third, (this is why I'm here writing a parking garage review) THERE WAS NO ELEVATOR SERVICE BECAUSE IT WAS A HOLIDAY. I had wondered why we saw people walking UP the ramp out of parking. That was why. Go to B4, no elevator. Well, that was insane and would be a pain on return as well, so we decided to find parking elsewhere.
We were in the garage 5 minutes. (?) It was not functional - failed to provide the offered service - so we left. The machine had NO grace period and demanded $12. The attendant was nearby and we told him we were not able to park and we were leaving. He held us hostage. He insisted we had to pay. He had just seen and spoken with us moments before. He demanded payment. I said we would call police non-emergency. He finally called a supervisor who had him wand the machine to allow us to exit.
