- This place is a rip-off!!!
I lost my ticket when I parked there; given my accountability, because I lost the slip of paper, I thought it will be fair to pay the maximum charge of $10.00 for the day even though I only parked my car for a couple of hours.
When I arrived back to the garage, I read a sign that says in the event of lost ticket you pay $13.00 and I thought no big deal… but I couldn’t believe it when the attendant asked me to pay double the maximum per day for the lack of a ticket. I explained to him that his sign states that if you lost your ticket you are charged $3.00 more above the maximum, and he stated that the sign was old, and we must pay $20.00 if we wanted to get out of there. This practice is so deceptive; they know that customers want to get their car out.
The employee was very disrespectful; I asked him to read the sign which is very close to his station and he said that he didn’t need to see any sign, he said and I quote him - “I know what the sign says and if you have a complaint you need to call the city, they own this parking and they know that the sign is old so if you want to go home you must pay $20.00”
I don’t live in Los Angeles; I was visiting with my family and it was very disappointing that the city allows these issues to happen. In sum, we had a good time visiting Los Angeles, but we went home feeling cheated by the city and its employees; it is not about the extra $7.00, it is about ethics.
